After 187 years on Court Street in Athens and as America’s second oldest family owned jewelry store, Cornwell Jewelers is closing. This was a difficult decision and made with much thought. All of you, our wonderful customers and friends, have made the ride worth taking. Thank you for your friendship and all of the memories . From the legacy that began with John, then DC, Charlie, Walter, Les and ends with Kris, it is with pride and love that we take our final ride into the sunset . From all of our staff, including the former longest tenured members of our Cornwell Jewelers’ family, Imogene Brewster, Eric Coon and Mary Mingus Pedigo, we thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your lives. While our closing is emotional, this is your opportunity to collect your last pieces of Cornwell Jewelers jewelry at significant discounts during our largest sale in history. We hope to see you as we say goodbye.
We take immense pride in being the second oldest jewelry store in America. It is an honor to carry on what our family started over 175 years ago. Our commitment to customer service and our unwavering standard of quality jewelry has allowed Cornwell Jewelers to stand the test of time.
